Today I worked with art school students Kerry and James to complete the first stage of my trolley print. There is still another print to go over the top of it that will happen next week. I will post again then. Excited about completing it.

Progress
I have been working with an intern from the arts school to begin creating larger prints. I am still experimenting with layering images up in these prints and have just concluded one project of a bike. I am looking forward to getting started on the much bigger print of a shopping trolley next week with volunteers.

Breakfast, visual test
Hi,
My name is Elise Simard, and I am a film animator based in Montreal. We are now approaching the midpoint of our residency, and the little film I am animating, Breakfast, is progressing very well. The drawings enclosed are tests; I have been looking at different ways to photograph my bear with my video camera, trying to integrate the digital grain with the aesthetic of the drawings, as well as trying to decide what would be the best aspect ratio for the film. Most of these images won't find their way in the final, but they do inform the directions I am to take next. I expect to be starting the lip-sync sequences next week. I shall post my singing videos once I have reached some interesting results.
With more soon,
Elise

Weekend Explorations
It’s been a great first month in our studio and in this beautiful landscape. Our weekend explorations have been amazing and are giving plenty of inspiration for our work here. Photos in order- Aberystwyth, Borth, Hafod Estate, Tywyn, Mount Snowdon.

Autumn residency
I’m Jennifer Price, one of the autumn artists in residence. We are just beginning month two of our residency and the time is just shooting by. Last night we gave our artist talks in the cinema so the nerves have subsided mostly now.
I am using this opportunity to push my work further; to the next level. I’ve always found experimenting kind of scary as it’s leaving the safety of what you know works, but it is exciting too. I am experimenting with layering my inkblot prints, which is beginning to show some promise. However, my experiments with including text have been a gigantic failure. But sometimes failure is a great motivator, and I would never have known without trying.
